Convenience store chain Spar International has signed a multi-year extension to its long-running partnership with European Athletics.
Spar International has served as the organisation’s principal sponsor since 1996. The new agreement between the two parties will run until 2027 and it marks the first time the contract has been signed for eight years.
The new deal commences from January 2020. Spar will sponsor the European Athletics Championships, European Athletics Indoor Championships, Spar European Cross-Country Championships and European Athletics Team Championships.
Additionally, the chain will support the 2020 European Athletics U18 Championships, along with the 2021 European Athletics U20 and U23 Championships.
The announcement of the new deal has been made to coincide with the start of the European Athletics Indoor Championships today (Friday) at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena.
