Eredivisie’s Utrecht takes healthy option with new main partner

Dutch health services company Zorg van de Zaak has reached an agreement to become the new main sponsor of Eredivisie football club FC Utrecht.

Zorg van de Zaak will serve as Utrecht’s shirt sponsor for three years from the 2015-16 to 2017-18 season, with an option to extend for another two years.

Additionally, the group will launch a range of initiatives to raise awareness for healthy living and active lifestyles in the Utrecht area.

The sponsorship was brokered by the Sportfive agency, which has been Utrecht’s exclusive sales and marketing representative since 2012.

Wilco van Schaik, managing director of FC Utrecht, said: “The partnership goes much further than just putting a name on a shirt. In the coming years we will jointly develop social and prevention programs. National issues such as debt, bullying, obesity, and smoking will be addressed in a joint effort between FC Utrecht and Zorg van de Zaak.”

Douglas Gremmen, managing director of Sportfive Netherlands, added: “The deal places Utrecht among the top five most valuable clubs in the Netherlands.”
