Eredivisie nets extension with ball partner

The Dutch Eredivisie football league has renewed its partnership with Derbystar, its official match-ball provider.

The deal will see Derbystar continue to provide the ball used in the Netherlands’ top-tier football division for the next four years, culminating in the 2018-19 season.

The two parties have been in partnership since 2006 and this is third time they have extended their agreement. The Eredivisie has sealed the partnership through online sporting goods retailer Sportdirect.com, which supplies Derbystar products.

Arnold de Bruin, chief executive of Deventrade, Derbystar’s parent company, said: “The partnership with the Eredivisie is the best calling card that we could wish for. It is again a pleasure every weekend to see ‘our’ ball across the fields.”
