Engelbert Strauss furthers handball commitment with EHF Euros deal

Work and safety wear manufacturer Engelbert Strauss has renewed its official sponsorship of the European Handball Federation’s leading national team tournaments for their 2016 and 2018 editions.

The agreement will cover next year’s men’s and women’s Euro 2016 tournaments, which take place in Poland from January 15-31 and in Sweden from December 4-18, respectively.

Engelbert Strauss’s sponsorship will also cover the men’s Euro 2018 tournament in Croatia and the women’s event in France.

As part of the deal, the company will receive advertising rights in the middle circle of the court as well as in-goal floor signage and LED advertising throughout the events, along with further activation and hospitality packages.

“The EHF Euros provide us with an excellent platform to reach out to our international target audiences and bolster our Europe-wide growth objectives,” Karl-Heinz Brenner, marketing director at Engelbert Strauss, said. “With the next four events tying into our previous involvement, we are fortifying the association between our brand and top-level handball. Supported by the tournaments’ growing exposure on TV, the platform is proving a valuable asset to our marketing strategies and a worthy investment for the future.”

The Infront Sports & Media agency, the EHF’s exclusive media and marketing partner for the body’s Euro events, brokered the deal.

Engelbert Strauss joins Bauhaus, AJ, Intersport, Grundfos, Velux and MoneyGram as official sponsors of the EHF’s national team tournaments. The full line-up will feature no more than eight partners.
