Emirates extends with European Tour, backs Ryder Cup

Dubai-based airline Emirates has renewed its sponsorship agreement with golf’s European Tour, through which it will also serve as an official partner of the 2018 edition of the Ryder Cup team event.

Emirates’ new four-year deal with the Tour will run until 2021.

The airline will continue to sponsor the nine events which culminate in the World Tour Championship: the BMW PGA Championship, Nordea Masters, Czech Masters, Scottish Open, Portugal Masters, Italian Open, Joburg Open, South Africa Open Championship and Nelson Mandela Championship.

Emirates currently supports 19 events on the European Tour’s international schedule, as well as the Race to Dubai.

Next year’s Ryder Cup, which is contested by representative teams from Europe and the United States, will take place at Le Golf National, near the French capital of Paris. The US defeated Europe 17-11 in last year’s Ryder Cup, which was held at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
