Dutch cycling newcomer books title sponsor

New Dutch team Orange Cycling has agreed a two-year title sponsorship deal with holiday company Roompot Vakanties.

The fledgling team is set to make its debut in 2015 as a second-tier Pro Continental squad and plans to have a roster made up entirely of Dutch riders.

There are currently no Dutch squads at the Pro Continental level, with the new Roompot / Orange Cycling Team harbouring long-term ambitions to secure a place in the elite World Tour. Roompot’s contract includes an option to extend beyond the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Laura Ligthart, sales director of Roompot, said: “We are the only major player in the holiday market that is completely in Dutch hands, and that we are quite proud of. The Roompot holiday parks are located in the most beautiful places in the Netherlands and cycling is a great way to discover them on vacation.

"In cooperation with the Roompot / Orange Cycling Team, we see a great opportunity to promote the message to our guests that cycling and exercise is fun and healthy.”
