Delancey backs British Ski and Snowboard ahead of Sochi Olympics

Specialist real estate investment advisory business Delancey has reached a commercial agreement with the British Ski and Snowboard governing body ahead of the winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

The agreement makes Delancey the headline sponsor for BSS until May 2016, building upon the firm’s title sponsorship of the British National Alpine Championships that was established four years ago.

Delancey’s investment will support training and development programmes for Britain’s elite and developing snowsports athletes, and BSS chief executive Dave Edwards believes the benefits of the deal will be felt beyond its current term at the 2018 winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

He said: “Delancey's support during the last four years has been invaluable and has enabled us to qualify 19 snowsport athletes, in what is probably the strongest British snowsport squad to travel to an Olympic winter Games. This new, exciting, arrangement will enable us to continue the work that we have started and will help us to create an even stronger team of athletes who can win multiple medals in Korea in 2018 and win World Cup and World Championship medals on their way there.”

Sochi 2014 gets under way on February 7, while the next edition of the British National Alpine Championships takes place in Meribel from March 30 to April 11, spanning senior and age-group competitions. Meribel will host the finals of the International Skiing Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup in 2015.
