Dallas Cowboys enrol with UNT

NFL American football team the Dallas Cowboys has entered into a multi-year partnership with the University of North Texas.

The partnership is designed to promote the UNT brand and provide educational benefits for students. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although the Star-Telegram newspaper reported that the deal could be worth more than $1m (€897,000).

UNT’s brand will be promoted during Cowboys games at AT&T Stadium, and at the club’s new headquarters, The Star.

The Star in Frisco is located directly across from the UNT New College, an off-site instructional facility that UNT opened in January.

Under the agreement, Cowboys executives will organise workshops for UNT students. Work experience opportunities and internships will also be offered.

“We believe our new partnership with the Dallas Cowboys will increase awareness of UNT, and we're excited about the educational opportunities our students will have interacting with one of the top sports franchises in the world,” UNT president Neal Smatresk said.
