Dacia steps up as main sponsor of England Rugby League

Romanian car manufacturer Dacia has agreed a deal to become the principal partner of England Rugby League.

Dacia has signed a four-year deal with the Rugby Football League, the sport’s governing body in England, through which its branding will appear on the national team’s playing shirts.

The deal covers England’s men’s, women's, academy, Knights, wheelchair and youth teams and runs until the end of 2021.

The agreement has been signed ahead of England’s Test match against New Zealand in the US city of Denver on June 23. The deal also covers next year’s Rugby League World Cup in England.

Dacia already serves as the official car partner of the RFL and title sponsors Super League’s Magic Weekend and the World Club Series. The company has also provided grassroots clubs with training sessions featuring professional coaches and players as part of the Dacia #FlairPlay awards.

Louise O’Sullivan, head of Dacia UK, said: “The inclusivity and community nature of the sport were some of the core values that we recognised when we first started our relationship with the RFL and they continue to be central to our plans as we move forward in our new role.”
