Cycling Australia drives on with Subaru

Japanese automotive manufacturer Subaru has extended its partnership with Cycling Australia.

Subaru will continue to serve as the official automotive partner of the body until the end of 2017 under the new deal. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Subaru will retain naming rights to the National Road Series, the premier domestic men’s and women’s road series.

Under the expanded partnership, the company will also sponsor Australian teams at the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) Track and Road World Championships. Subaru’s branding will appear on the apparel of competitors during the events.

Subaru, which first teamed up with Cycling Australia in 2012, will also continue to sponsor the Full Cycle television programme and back its cycling ambassador initiative.

Cycling Australia chief executive Nicholas Green said: “Subaru have been a key strategic partner in the evolution of cycling in Australia over the past five years, which has allowed us to introduce our sport and athletes to a wider audience, including the direct support of broadcast partnerships with the Nine Network and Fox Sports.”
