CSKA Sofia aids recovery effort with new shirt sponsor

Bulgarian A PFG top-tier football club CSKA Sofia has named telecommunications company Mtel as its new main sponsor.

The initial one-year deal will cover the 2016-17 season and includes the option of further extension. As part of the deal, Mtel’s branding will feature on the front of the club’s playing jerseys.

Under the agreement, CSKA fans and Mtel customers will be able to make free phone calls to one another. Mtel will also provide CSKA fans with exclusive online news content, personalised ring tones and discounts. Specific offers are expected to be launched in the next two weeks.

CSKA Sofia is currently sixth in the table after six games of the 2016-17 campaign. The season marks the club’s first back in the top flight after it was demoted to the third tier in 2015 amid financial troubles.

The club cruised to the third-tier title last year and also won the Bulgarian Cup, becoming the first team from the third division to do so. In the summer, it was announced that the club would return to the A PFG after a licensing agreement was reached.
