Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A champion Cruzeiro has reached an agreement to make supermarket chain Supermercados BH its main sponsor.
The signing of Supermarcados BH ends nine months without a main partner for the club and its branding will feature on the front of Cruzeiro’s shirts for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Sports supplement brand Voxx signed an agreement to feature on Cruzeiro’s playing shorts last month, while Supermercados BH also joins Cemil, Vilma Food, 99 Taxis and TIM on the club’s commercial roster.
Pedro Lourenço de Oliveira, managing partner of the supermarket chain, is an investor in Cruzeiro. Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
Despite winning the Serie A title last season. Cruzeiro is currently languishing in 16th position this time around and is in danger of relegation to Serie B.
