Pro12 rugby union team Connacht has appointed gaming company BragBet as an official partner, making it the first Irish provincial team to sign a commercial agreement with a betting firm.
BragBet combines online gambling with a social media platform that allows groups of friends to form a team and bet against a bookmaker on mobile and desktop platforms.
Connacht joins BragBet’s stable of partners, which includes the Football Association of Ireland and the Northern Irish Football League.
Alex Saul, head of commercial and marketing at Connacht Rugby, said: “BragBet is a perfect way for Connacht fans to form a team and stay in contact through their interest in sport. This commercial deal with BragBet is a great fit and also ensures that there are vital monies reinvested into the club.”
