Commonwealth Games England renews with kit partner

Sportswear company Kukri has renewed its partnership with the Commonwealth Games England governing body.

Under the agreement, Kukri will supply clothing for England’s athletes and the CGE delegation during the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which will be staged in Australia’s Gold Coast region. The partnership will also cover the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas.

“We are fully focused on sending the best prepared – and best kitted out – team to the Gold Coast and the Bahamas,” Paul Blanchard, chief executive of CGE, said. “Gold Coast 2018 will also see the England vs. Australia rivalry renewed as we prepare to take on the Aussies in their own backyard. We want to look our best.”

Kukri partnered with the body during the 2014 Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and during last year’s Youth Games in Samoa. England topped the Commonwealth Games medal table for the first time in 28 years at Glasgow 2014 with a total of 174 medals.
