Comcast signs USOC partnership, replaces AT&T

US media company Comcast has signed on as an official partner of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

The agreement will run until 2020, covering that year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, as well as the 2018 winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Comcast will serve as the official internet, video distribution, wireless, home security and business services provider for the 2018 and 2020 US Olympic and Paralympic teams. It will replace telecommunications company AT&T.

Under the agreement, Team USA marks will be allowed to be used in advertising and marketing campaigns for the Comcast, Xfinity and Comcast Business brands.

Comcast-owned NBCUniversal holds media rights in the US to the Olympic Games through to 2032.
