College Football Playoff eats up Eckrich partnership

Meat products manufacturer Eckrich has agreed a sponsorship deal with the College Football Playoff, an annual postseason competition in the US collegiate American football system.

The partnership names Eckrich as the official smoked sausage and deli meat sponsor of the CFP for the 2017 season.

As part of the deal, Eckrich will organise a Road to the National Championship competition, which will give 14 fans the chance to win $1m (€906,000) over a 40-year period through taking part in throwing contests at some of the biggest college football games of the year, including the 2017 National Championship game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. 

Eckrich will promote the competition through marketing campaigns and CFP-branded packaging.
