Coca-Cola adds fizz to Lyon’s commercial portfolio

Soft drinks giant Coca-Cola has entered into a partnership with French Ligue 1 football club Lyon.

The deal will run for three seasons, from 2016-17 until 2018-19.

Under the agreement, Coca-Cola will become an official supplier of the club and a founding partner of the team’s new Parc OL stadium, which opened in January.

Coca-Cola will have a branding presence on various surfaces inside Parc OL and will be able to offer its products at concession stands and VIP areas in the stadium. In addition, Coca-Cola will support an initiative where 44 children will accompany players onto the pitch at Parc OL.

The company will also benefit from a presence on official club digital media and will have access to players for marketing purposes.

The partnership was brokered by the Lagardère Sports France division of media conglomerate Lagardère.
