CNBC sets sail with Cowes Week

Business and financial news channel CNBC, which is owned by US media company NBCUniversal, has agreed a deal to serve as the official business media partner to the Cowes Week sailing regatta in the UK.

Under the agreement with event operator Cowes Week Limited (CWL), CNBC will receive hospitality and branding on the Isle of Wight and an associated online presence.

Michelle Warner, sales and marketing director at CWL, said: “This is the first time that our regatta has established a relationship of this nature and we’re delighted to be working with CNBC to increase the international reach of Cowes Week with a huge European audience. We’re always looking at ways in which we can engage with more people from home and further afield; this new relationship provides us with a perfect vehicle to do this.”

Cowes Week runs from August 2-9 in 2014 and will be supported by a CNBC advertising campaign beginning this month.
