Chinese Super League snaps up energy drink partner

Chinese energy drink manufacturer Eastroc Super Drink has agreed a deal to sponsor the Chinese Super League, the top tier of club football in the country.

The deal names Eastroc as an official supplier of the competition for the 2018-19 season.

The agreement will seek to promote grassroots football in China, with Eastroc having pledged to donate RMB10,000 (€1,280/$1,576) to a youth football foundation for every goal scored by an U23 player in the CSL. The foundation has been set up by Guangzhou Evergrande player Feng Xiaoting.

Eastroc also sponsored the Chinese leg of the International Champions Cup pre-season tournament in 2017.
