China Mobile becomes official telco for Military World Games

Chinese telco China Mobile signed a deal last Friday to become exclusive telecommunication services partner of the Military World Games .

The Military World Games is organised and contested by individuals currently serving in the armed forces, with over 8,700 athletes taking part. The seventh edition of the games will be held in Wuhan City, China from 15th-30th October with 23 disciplines, and track and field and archery events for para athletes.

According to Xinhuanet, China Mobile will handle the digital infrastructure setup for 5G and data analytics at the games venues, including exhibition halls and operation centres.

Viewers and participants can experience virtual reality drone live broadcasts, augmented reality navigation assistance, driverless shuttle buses and other 5G applications.

Other sponsors for this edition of the World Military Games includes Chinese sportswear company Kelme, who signed a deal to be the official sportswear of the event.
