Carrefour set for prominent Vuelta exposure

French supermarket chain Carrefour has signed up as a sponsor of the Vuelta a España cycling race.

Carrefour has become a sponsor of the race, but will arguably receive the bulk of exposure from having its branding prominently placed on the red jersey, which is worn by the leader of the annual multi-day race.

The deal will run for the 2013 edition of the event, with an option to extend the agreement.

Financial details have not been disclosed.
