The English Football League (EFL) has agreed a deal for energy drinks company Carabao to become the new title sponsor of its EFL Cup club competition.
The agreement will run for three seasons, from 2017-18 to 2019-20, with the tournament to be known as the Carabao Cup.
Carabao will receive a range of related domestic and international rights, including its colours and branding appearing on the ribbons of the trophy, the match ball, perimeter boards, pre- and post-match interview backdrops and inside stadia at all matches.
The deal also includes investment into community and grassroots football via the EFL Trust programme.
Carabao already has a presence in the UK football market through a partnership with English Premier League club Chelsea and a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with second-tier Championship club Reading.
