Canadian Olympic Committee dials up extension with Bell

Canadian telecommunications company Bell has extended its partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee in a deal that will run through until the 2024 summer Olympic Games.

As well as the 2024 Games, the host of which is yet to be determined, the agreement will cover the 2018 winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, the 2020 summer Games in Tokyo, Japan and the 2022 winter Games in Beijing, China.

Bell has been a premier national partner of the COC since 1999. Under the new agreement, the two parties will relaunch an enhanced version of the Bell Athletes Connect programme. The initiative provides over 1,200 Canadian athletes with Samsung smartphones fitted with Bell’s mobile services.

Bell and the COC also launched the Bell Olympic Club ahead of the ongoing summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. The platform serves as a community for fans to keep up to date with athletes, enter competitions and earn rewards, and also features exclusive COC content.

In addition, the two parties will continue to work together on mental health awareness campaigns. The COC supports the Bell Let’s Talk initiative, which encourages people to speak out about mental health issues.
