Buildcorp constructs extension with National Rugby Championship

Construction services provider Buildcorp has renewed its title sponsorship of the Australian National Rugby Championship ahead of the 2016 edition of the club competition.

Buildcorp, which has served as title sponsor since the tournament’s inception in 2014, struck the deal with the Australian Rugby Union. The competition will retain its official title of the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship for this year's edition.

Ben Whitaker, general manager of high performance at ARU, said: “Thanks to their significant partnership, the competition has continued to evolve into what is now one of the most exciting, spectator-friendly sporting competitions in the country and one that we are committed to further enhance.”

Earlier this month, Buildcorp furthered its presence in Australian rugby by striking a deal with the ARU for naming rights to the women’s national team and the Women’s National XVs Championship.

The 2016 NRC will consist of eight teams and begins on August 27. The competition features players from the Australian national team, the Super Rugby franchise league and local youth sides.
