Professional services group Accenture has agreed a four-year sponsorship deal with British Triathlon.
Accenture will serve as a lead partner of the body, as well as an official partner of British Triathlon’s elite teams.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed but British Triathlon said it represents one of the biggest investments in British Olympic sport since London 2012.
The two parties will work together to improve elite triathlete performance in the lead-up to the 2020 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo by applying new technologies across British Triathlon's Games programmes.
Accenture will also serve as the organisation’s official innovation partner and official mixed relay partner, with the latter discipline set to debut at Tokyo 2020.
Accenture will aid the expansion of British Triathlon’s Mixed Relay Cup, with three events scheduled for 2018 following the inaugural race in Nottingham this Saturday.
In addition, Accenture will promote teamwork and healthy lifestyles with the launch of the Accenture Mixed Relay Corporate Cup, which will visit Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Northumberland over the next year.
Julian Skan, senior managing director at Accenture, said: “Triathlon is a sport that fits perfectly with our focus on gender equality and disability inclusion, as well as promoting health and wellbeing. And nothing beats working together when you are striving for success, so we’ll support British Triathlon’s elite triathletes by applying new technologies with the aim of improving performance.”
