Bridgestone drives on with America’s Cup Golf

Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has extended its title sponsorship of the America’s Cup Golf to take in the second edition of the national team tournament.

Through its Bridgestone Latin America Tire Division, the firm will also serve as the official ball of the event, which this year moves from Argentina to be played in Mexico from October 21-25 at a venue yet to be determined.

The 2015 America’s Cup will feature 76 top golfers from across the region including Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar, who will represent the United States.

“Bridgestone’s participation as the title sponsor and official ball of the Bridgestone America's Golf Cup, provides a great opportunity for brand exposure in the Americas,” Alfonso Zendejas, vice-president of operations for Bridgestone Latin America Tire Division, said. “This tournament is a great showcase for Bridgestone as it allows golfers to learn about our product design and take advantage of our technology to enhance their performance on the course.”

The 2014 event took place at the Olivos Golf Club in Argentina, with the home team of Rafael Echenique and Emilio Dominguez securing victory. The tournament is sanctioned by PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
