Brewery gets behind Kenya’s Rugby World Cup drive

Kenya Breweries Limited has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Kenya Rugby Union which will promote its flagship Tusker Lager brand through association with the national team.

The sponsorship package is worth Kshs 75m (€641,000/$867,000).

Kenya will take part in the Vodacom Cup in March and April, pitted against South African provincial sides. The team will be based in Cape Town and begins its campaign against Eastern Province Kings on March 8.

Then, in the summer, Kenya will contest a final qualification round for the 2015 Rugby World Cup when it faces Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Namibia in the Confederation of African Rugby’s CAR Cup.
