Bostik sticks with Tour de France sponsorship

Global adhesive specialist Bostik has renewed its sponsorship of the Tour de France for the 2016 edition of the cycling event.

Bostik will continue to serve as an official supplier to the Tour de France and will use the event to promote its brands and activities.

Four Bostik-branded vehicles will participate in the Tour de France ‘Publicity Caravan’, which precedes the peloton on each stage. Spectators along the route will also receive 450,000 Bostik gifts as well as more than €500,000 ($556,000) in coupons to spend on products from the company.

Bostik will also carry out a series of marketing and promotional activities during the race, including an outdoor advertising campaign in two prominent locations in the French capital of Paris.

The partnership is understood to be a three-season deal, from 2019-20 to 2021-22, and builds on AXA’s existing Global Partner agreement with Liverpool.

The deal is the largest ever sponsorship investment in UK women’s sport and comes less than a year after the league went fully professional in September 2018.

Under the five-year global deal, Oppo will become the first Official Smartphone Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon, as the event is officially known.

US sportswear brand Nike is paying about $7.5m (€6.7m) per year to sponsor China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL), according to industry sources.
