French Ligue 1 football club Girondins de Bordeaux has unveiled restaurant chain Bistro Régent as a new main sponsor.
The two-year deal covers the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons but will come into effect towards the end of the current campaign.
Under the agreement, Bistro Régent’s branding will feature on the front of Bordeaux’s away jerseys, and on the back of the team’s home shirts in Ligue 1 games. The Bordeaux-based company’s logo will also feature on replica away jerseys.
The deal will begin on April 29 with Bordeaux’s away match against Dijon.
Bistro Régent becomes the second company to sign on as a main sponsor of Bordeaux in the space of a month, after French energy group Sweetcom Group expanded its partnership with the club.
Sweetcom signed a deal with Bordeaux covering the remainder of the 2016-17 season, as well as the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns. The company will serve as the team's front-of-shirt sponsor for home games, with its branding to feature on the back of Bordeaux’s jerseys for away matches.
Bordeaux currently sits sixth in the Ligue 1 table with seven games of the season remaining and started the campaign without a shirt sponsor.
