NBA basketball franchise the Houston Rockets has agreed a first-of-its-kind partnership with sports drink brand BodyArmor.
BodyArmor becomes the Texas-based club’s official sports drink, with the deal representing the company’s first-ever partnership with an NBA team. The length of the deal was not disclosed.
BodyArmor will feature the Houston Rockets team brand marks with star player James Harden in advertising, retail programming, and public relations events throughout the Houston area. At the team’s Toyota Center arena, the players will have access to BodyArmor via coolers and vending machines throughout the training facilities, locker room and player only areas. Harden (pictured) has been an investor in BodyArmor since 2013.
Harden said: “I have turned a lot of my team-mates onto BodyArmor and they like it as much as I do. I’m excited that the Rockets see the value in Bodyarmor too and have partnered with the company to make it available to us not only in practice, but also during the games.”
In addition to making its debut at the Toyota Center, BodyArmor will now be available at hundreds of retail locations throughout Texas.
