BOA bags extension with Aldi ahead of Rio 2016

Supermarket chain Aldi has signed a four-year extension to its partnership with the British Olympic Association ahead of the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Under the agreement, Aldi will support Team GB through to the 2020 Games in Tokyo, Japan. Aldi retains its position as the official supermarket partner to Team GB.

As part of the extended deal, Aldi will launch a new television advertising campaign to support Team GB in the build-up to Rio 2016, which takes place from August 5-21. The advert will be screened for the first time later today (Monday) on commercial broadcaster ITV.

Aldi first teamed up with the BOA in March 2015. The two parties have since worked together on the Get Set to Eat Fresh youth programme, and on Homegrown Heroes, which connects athletes with their local communities.

Aldi will continue to serve as an official BOA partner alongside Adidas, BP, Deloitte, DFS, Fitness First, Kellogg’s, Muller and Nissan.
