BetVictor takes over betting partner rights to Euroleague Basketball in Germany

Online gaming company BetVictor has become the Official Betting Partner of Euroleague Basketball in Germany until 2020 – taking over from online betting rival Tempobet in the country.

The deal adds to a strong line-up of regional betting partners for Euroleague Basketball, which is currently run as a joint venture with the IMG agency in a ten-year deal from 2016-17.

Sports Sponsorship Insider understands that around 10 per cent of  Euroleague Basketball’s sponsorship revenue derives from online betting company sponsorships.

Marketing rights to non-exclusive data and streaming services brings in further revenue from the sector.

Before the joint venture, IMG Gaming acquired the right to sell Euroleague Basketball’s betting sector deals, involving partners in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Germany and Italy.

In 2017, the Russian bookmaker Fonbet entered into a two-year agreement, making Fonbet the official Russian Betting Partner and the first Russian betting brand to enter into an official partnership with Euroleague Basketball.

The 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season tipped-off yesterday and continues today with eight games over the two days between the best 16 teams in Europe.
