UK-based boxing promotions company Frank Warren Promotions and its associated pay-television channel Box Nation has agreed a title sponsorship deal with bookmaker BetFred for its two major summer fight cards.
Under the deal, BetFred lends its name to this weekend’s “Behind Enemy Lines” show at Wembley Arena, which is headed by the heavyweight clash between former world-title challenger Dereck Chisora and unbeaten American Malik Scott.
On August 17, the UK-based bookmaker will back WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly’s homecoming defence against Russia’s Sergey Kovalev at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena.
Matchroom Sport, the main rival of Frank Warren Promotions in the UK boxing market, also has a title sponsor from the gaming sector for its live Sky television fight nights in the form of Betfair.
