Azul Brazilian Airlines has secured a sponsorship agreement with US North American Soccer League club Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
The agreement covers the remainder of the Strikers’ 2015 campaign and grants Azul branding space on the back of the team’s playing shirts.
Azul will also benefit from on-site activation at Strikers games and throughout the South Florida area. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Azul currently offers a daily flight to Fort Lauderdale from Brazil. Starting in June, there will be an additional flight running three times per week departing from the Viracopos Airport – the biggest hub in Brazil that connects more than 60 Brazilian cities to the United States.
In December last year, Fort Lauderdale Strikers were bought out by a Brazilian ownership group featuring former national team star Ronaldo.
