The car manufacturer Audi is contemplating entering Formula One with Red Bull serving as a main sponsor of the motor-racing team, according to German car magazine Auto Bild.
The deal, should it be finalised, would begin in 2018.
The latest news follows Red Bull's renewed threat to quit F1 as a team.
An Audi spokesman would not confirm Auto Bild’s report, but the magazine said that Audi's board is close to approving the move.
