Arsenal expands deal with Chinese partner

English Premier League football club Arsenal has expanded its partnership with Chinese technology, content and services company BNN Technology.

As part of the new agreement, BNN, which serves as Arsenal’s official lottery partner in China, will deliver unique content, develop coaching programmes and provide VIP experiences for Chinese fans.

Exclusive competitions will also be offered through state news agency Xinhua’s mobile application. In addition, BNN’s technology partner NewNet will manage a new ‘coach the coaches’ programme, which will give Chinese football coaches the opportunity to learn from qualified Arsenal coaches.

The upgraded partnership also allows BNN, with the aid of NewNet, to provide a range of content to the Xinhua News app. Content will include manager interviews, pre-match press conferences, weekly training footage and coaching videos.

“As a club we have a huge and incredibly passionate supporter base in China; we have tremendous engagement with our Mandarin-language website and over five million followers across the major Chinese social media platforms,” Arsenal’s chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham said.

"Interest in the Premier League will continue to grow, and by expanding our partnership with BNN we are delighted to support the development of football in China through the provision of structured coach education programmes by Arsenal coaches. BNN has shown enormous commitment to China’s mission for football and we look forward to working with the group to help deliver this exciting vision.”

Arsenal first partnered with BNN in 2015.
