Health insurance provider AOK has agreed a three-and-a-half year partnership with the German Handball Federation (DHB) under which it becomes the main shirt sponsor of its men’s national team.
AOK will serve as the DHB’s exclusive health partner until December 31, 2017 and activations will be rolled out gradually.
The AOK logo featured on Germany’s handball shirts for the first time last night as the national team went down to a 32-30 friendly defeat against Norway in Wetzlar.
Under the agreement, which was brokered by the Sportfive agency, AOK will enjoy a presence at all Germany home games and engage with fans on-site with regards to health issues.
Additionally, the DHB and AOK will collaborate on school, youth and recreational sports initiatives.
