Aliansce maintains backing of Brazilian Olympic Committee

Shopping mall chain Aliansce has extended its partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) through to the end of Tokyo’s 2020 summer Olympic Games cycle.

Aliansce, which began its partnership with the COB ahead of Rio de Janeiro’s staging of the 2016 Games, will now support the body through to December 2020.

Aliansce operates 19 shopping malls throughout Brazil and will promote its partnership through the ‘Time Brasil’ campaign. This will include an exhibition of images of Brazilian athletes at its malls.

Among the athletes portrayed in the Time Brasil exhibition are: Alisson Cerutti (beach volleyball), Ana Marcela Cunha (open water marathon), Arthur Nory (artistic gymnastics), Bruno Rezende (volleyball), Bruno Schmidt (beach volleyball), Duda Miccuci (synchronised swimming), Gabriela Guimarães (volleyball), Isaquias Queiroz (canoeing), Luiza Borges (synchronised swimming), Marcus Vinicius de Almeida (archery), Maria Clara Lobo (synchronised swimming), Pedro Gonçalves (canoeing) and Rafaela Silva (judo – pictured).

“One of our goals is to bring the athlete closer to the fan, and the malls are also a perfect space for this because of the number of people that circulate in these places,” Rafael Grabowsky, general manager of commercial and marketing for the COB, said.

In addition to the photo exhibition, some shopping malls will also offer free sports clinics for children.
