AdvoCare on target with league-wide MLS partnership

Health and wellness company AdvoCare has signed a five-year deal to become the official sports nutrition partner of Major League Soccer.

The agreement, which is AdvoCare’s first league partnership, is effective from the 2015 MLS campaign and extends through the 2019 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the terms, AdvoCare Rehydrate will be the official sports drink of MLS and benefit from perimeter advertising at matches.

Richard Wright, president and chief executive of AdvoCare, said: “Soccer is a rapidly growing sport in North America and our partnership with MLS makes perfect sense as we continue to grow together.”

AdvoCare is set to announce individual MLS club partnerships over the coming weeks that will integrate its products into the teams’ operations. In October it extended its separate shirt sponsorship deal with MLS outfit FC Dallas through 2020.
