Acura tees off Tiger Woods Foundation partnership

Acura, the luxury car division of Japanese automotive company Honda, has agreed a deal to become the official vehicle of the Tiger Woods Foundation and its associated golf tournaments.

Under the agreement, Acura will have a significant branding presence at all three Tiger Woods Foundation supported events, starting with the 2014 Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club on June 23-29.

As the foundation’s exclusive automotive sponsor, Acura will supply more than 180 vehicles for use at the Bethesda, Maryland course and host product displays.

Acura vehicles also will be featured at the Deutsche Bank Championship from August 27 to September 1 and the World Challenge on December 1-7.

Acura has an established presence in golf including a 10-year run as the official vehicle of the Pinehurst Golf Club in North Carolina, site of the 2014 U.S. Open, while it also serves as the title sponsor of the Acura College Alumni Team Championship.

The 2014 Quicken Loans National marks the first event under the US retail mortgage lender’s multi-year deal as its new title sponsor. The tournament, now in its eighth year, offers a $6.5m (€4.7m) purse and was won last year by American Bill Haas (pictured).
