Online gaming operator 888.com has struck a deal to become the title sponsor of the World Grand Prix, a new tournament organised and run by the World Snooker global governing body.
Under the agreement, this year’s inaugural event will now be known as the 888.com World Grand Prix.
The first edition of the World Grand Prix will take place from March 16-22 at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, Wales. Players will compete for a top prize of £100,000 (€142,000/$151,000).
888.com has a history of sponsorship in the professional snooker market through its support of events such as the Champion of Champions and the Snooker Shoot-Out.
