Unibet signs as first betting partner of World Chess Championship

Online betting firm Unibet paid between €1m ($1.1m) and €2m to sponsor this year’s World Chess Championship, according to industry sources. The championship was held in London and ran from November 9-28.

It was the first time the event has had an Official Betting Partner, and placed Unibet among the event’s top-tier sponsors, alongside Russian fertiliser brand PhosAgro and cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Lab.
