Sponsorship deals from January 27 to February 21

Air sports: The International Air Sports Federation entered into a partnership with US asset management firm Noosphere Ventures.

Air sports: Air BP, the international aviation fuel products and service division of oil and gas giant BP, agreed to sponsor the 2017 Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

American football: Insurance and financial services firm Nationwide renewed its partnership with the National Football League (NFL) until 2021.

American football: The NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs renewed its partnership with soft drinks producer Coca-Cola for three years, to 2020.

Archery: World Archery, the sport’s global governing body, renewed its association with archery accessories provider Axcel Sights and the company’s TRU Ball brand until the end of 2017.

Athletics: Dutch brewery Heineken became a partner of the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) 2017 World Championships and the World Para Athletics Championships.

Athletics: Global insurance group Aon agreed a sponsorship deal with Athletics New Zealand.

Athletics: Australian supermarket chain Coles acquired naming rights to the inaugural event of the Nitro Athletics sports entertainment series.

Athletics: US oil refining and marketing company Citgo stepped up its backing of the Boston Marathon after signing a new multi-year partnership with the Boston Athletic Association.

Aussie rules: Australian Football League (AFL) club the Adelaide Crows agreed a five-year kit partnership, from 2017 to 2021, with Australian sportswear manufacturer ISC.

Aussie rules: The AFL’s Brisbane Lions entered into a five-year partnership, from 2017 to 2021, with beer brand XXXX.

Baseball: Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise the Kansas City Royals extended deals with US-based brewery MillerCoors and the Boulevard Brewing Company.

Baseball: The Pittsburgh Pirates MLB franchise agreed a 15-year naming-rights deal with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for its spring training ballpark.

Basketball: North America’s National Basketball Association (NBA) entered a multi-year partnership with Tennessee whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s.

Basketball: The development competition of the NBA, the D-League, signed a title-sponsorship deal with PepsiCo-owned isotonic drinks brand Gatorade.

Basketball: The Brooklyn Nets NBA franchise agreed a jersey sponsorship deal with software company Infor.

Basketball: The Utah Jazz NBA basketball franchise signed a jersey sponsorship deal with software company Qualtrics for three seasons, from 2017-18 to 2019-20.

Basketball: NBA franchise the Houston Rockets struck a partnership with Chinese home-décor company Scisky until 2022.

Basketball: Japanese consumer electronics company Panasonic agreed to become a main sponsor of Lega Basket Serie A, the top-tier club competition in Italy, for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

Cricket: The UK division of Korean carmaker Kia extended its partnership with English County Championship club Surrey until 2020.

Cricket: Facilities management company Cloudfm was announced as the new naming-rights partner of the Essex County Ground, home of English County Championship club Essex, in a three-year deal to 2020.

Cycling: Italian cycling wear manufacturer Alé signed a four-year partnership, from 2017 to 2020, with the European Cycling Union.

Cycling: US cyber security software developer Cylance agreed to sponsor the Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour.

Darts: Online food ordering platform Just Eat signed a one-year partnership with the Professional Darts Corporation for 2017.

Drone racing: German financial services company Allianz secured a multi-year global partnership with the Drone Racing League.

Esports: The HyperX division of memory products manufacturer Kingston extended its partnership with ELeague.

Esports: Personal care brand Gillette struck a partnership with the ESL.

Football: Heineken extended its sponsorship of the Uefa Champions League and Europa League European club competitions for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.

Football: Polish currency exchange company Cinkciarz.pl agreed to sponsor this summer’s Uefa European Under-21 Championship national team tournament.

Football: Banking group Raiffeisen extended sponsorship agreement with the Swiss Football League through to the 2020-21 season.

Football: Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron extended a kit supplier agreement with Italian Serie A club Lazio and linked up with Spanish LaLiga team Deportivo La Coruña. The deal with Lazio will run for five seasons, from 2017-18 to 2021-22, while the Deportivo partnership will run until the 2020-21 campaign.

Football: Italian professional technical guidance and support company Tecnologia e Sicurezza sealed a partnership with Lazio.

Football: Italian online gaming operator StarCasinò entered into a partnership with Juventus, which plays in the Serie A.

Football: Serie A club Bologna renewed a kit partnership with automated door and barrier manufacturer FAAC for the 2017-18 season.

Football: TWS, a manufacturer of resins and polyurethanes for the textiles, tanning and stickers industry, became the new main sponsor of Serie A club Atalanta in a two-and-a-half-year deal through to the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Football: French Ligue 1 club Metz agreed a shirt sponsorship deal with Force Glass, a manufacturer of smartphone screen protectors.

Football: Lisbon-based Primeira Liga club Sporting Clube de Portugal renewed a partnership with Macron for four years, through to the end of the 2020-21 season.

Football: Telecommunications company Vodafone renewed its shirt sponsorship agreement with Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas for two years, from 2017-18 to 2018-19.

Football: German carmaker Audi agreed a deal with DC United that grants it naming rights to the Major League Soccer franchise’s future home stadium.

Football: Life insurance company Great Eastern renewed an agreement with the Football Association of Singapore to serve as a co-title sponsor of the top-tier S.League club competition for the 2017 and 2018 campaigns.

Golf: Swiss watchmaker Omega extended its title sponsorship of European Tour tournament the Dubai Desert Classic for four years, from 2018 to 2021.

Golf: Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho extended its partnership with the PGA of Australia until 2019.

Handball: The European Handball Federation entered into a partnership with communication systems supplier Axitour until December 2019.

Handball: German regional lottery company Lotto Schleswig-Holstein extended its jersey sponsorship deal with THW Kiel, which plays in the country’s Handball Bundesliga top-tier domestic club competition.

Hockey: Windows and doors retailer Vantage entered into a naming-rights partnership with the Hockey New Zealand through to 2020.

Horse-racing: Online bookmaker Betway signed up as a partner of the UK’s Grand National Festival at Aintree for three years, from 2017 to 2019.

Handball: Sports equipment manufacturer Select agreed to become the new official ball partner of Germany’s top-tier Handball Bundesliga club competition.

Horse racing: UK betting company Sporting Index agreed to become an authorised betting partner of the British Horseracing Authority for three years, through to March 2019.

Horse racing: Qatar Investment & Projects Development Holding Company (Qipco) renewed its title sponsorship of the Irish Champion Stakes, from 2017 to 2019.

Ice hockey: Warrior Sports, a high-performance sports equipment manufacturer, extended its sponsorship deal with the European Champions Hockey League for three seasons, from 2017-18 to 2019-20.

Netball: English Superleague club Wasps sealed a partnership with British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover.

Motor-cycling: Honda Racing Corporation agreed a two-year sponsorship deal, from 2017 to 2018, with youth fashion brand Pull&Bear for its factory Honda MotoGP team.

Motor-cycling: Spanish carmaker Seat agreed a partnership with the Superbike World Championship series.

Motor-cycling: The British Superbike Championship series renewed an agreement with Rock Oil and struck a new deal with WNT. The Rock Oil deal runs from 2017 to 2019 while the length of the WNT partnership was not disclosed.

Motor-cycling: Motorcycle insurance specialist Bennetts renewed sponsorship deals with the Isle of Man TT and Classic TT.

Motor-racing: Multinational oil and gas company BP and its lubricant brand Castrol partnered with Formula One team McLaren-Honda.

Motor-racing: Spanish insurance group Mapfre sealed a deal to sponsor French Formula One team Renault for the 2017 campaign.

Motor-racing: Eyewear specialist Foresight & Vision agreed to sponsor the Force India Formula One team for the 2017 season.

Motor-racing: Italian sportswear company Erreà moved into the Formula One through a partnership with the Sauber team.

Multi-sport: Australian clothing brand Hard Yakka, Swiss watchmaker Longines and media monitoring and analysis company Isentia agreed to sponsor the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Games.

Multi-sport: Sportswear company Kukri agreed a kit partnership with Commonwealth Games Canada.

Multi-sport: Japanese food and chemical corporation Ajinomoto agreed to sponsor the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

Multi-sport: French IT services company Atos signed on as the first sponsor of the inaugural edition of the European Championships, which will be staged in Glasgow and Berlin next year.

Multi-sport: US energy supplier Constellation extended its partnership with the United Center and the arena’s two major league tenants – the Chicago Bulls NBA franchise and the Chicago Blackhawks NHL team.

Multi-sport: Direct selling company Jeunesse acquired naming rights to the Arena Olímpica do Rio, one of the venues for the Brazilian city’s staging of the 2016 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Olympics: The British Olympic Association entered into a partnership with Sports Travel and Hospitality Group, a travel and ticketing specialist.

Powerboating: The Union International Motonautique sealed a partnership with Chinese operating group BUND Holding.

Rugby league: Oil and gas exploration and development company Oil Search and the AccorHotels chain agreed to sponsor this year’s Rugby League World Cup.

Rugby league: Vehicle retail group Halliwell Jones extended an agreement for naming rights to the home stadium of English Super League club the Warrington Wolves until the 2021 season.

Rugby league: Australian National Rugby League (NRL) club the Sydney Roosters agreed a kit sponsorship deal with commercial and residential glass replacement company Magic Glass, from 2017 to 2019.

Rugby league: NRL team the Parramatta Eels agreed a shirt sponsorship deal with property development and construction company Aland Developments.

Rugby union: The Australian Rugby Union agreed a four-year partnership, from 2017 to 2020, with British professional services giant Aon, alongside a three-year deal, from 2017 to 2019, with sports hydration company SOS.

Rugby union: Vodafone agreed to sponsor Australia’s Super Rugby club competition from 2017 to 2020.

Rugby union: The Italian Rugby Federation extended its partnership with European hotel chain NH Hotel Group through to the end of 2017 and signed a sponsorship deal with French carmaker Renault.

Snooker: Online gambling and casino company Jojobet.com agreed a deal with World Snooker to serve as the title sponsor of this year’s Gibraltar Open.

Special Olympics: Social fundraising platform GoFundMe secured a global partnership with Special Olympics, the movement that seeks to empower athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Swimming: The Ligue Européenne de Natation agreed a multi-year partnership with water polo equipment specialist KAP7.

Swimming: German carmaker BMW extended its partnership with USA Swimming until 2020.

Swimming: The Singapore Swimming Association agreed a four-year sponsorship deal, through to 2020, with financial services company Liberty Insurance.

Table tennis: Sports equipment manufacturer Tibhar signed on as the first sponsor of the new T2 Asia-Pacific Table Tennis League.

Tennis: US technology company Dell agreed a partnership with the International Tennis Hall of Fame, through which it will title sponsor the ITHF’s annual men’s ATP World Tour tournament until 2021.

Tennis: Airport retailer Dubai Duty Free renewed its partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association.

Tennis: French financial services company BNP Paribas extended its sponsorship of the French Open until 2021.

Tennis: FedEx Express, a subsidiary of global logistics company FedEx, extended its partnership with the Association of Tennis Professionals by three years, through to 2019.

US college sports: Adidas secured a seven-year partnership, from 2017-18 to 2023-24, with the athletics division of Rutgers University in the US.

Volleyball: The International Volleyball Federation agreed a sponsorship deal with Japanese sports equipment manufacturer Senoh Corporation, from 2017 until 2024.

Winter sports: German lubricants manufacturer Liqui Moly agreed to sponsor this year’s World Luge Championships.
