Sony Ericsson split leads to change of sponsorship strategy

SONY ERICCSON'S relationship with the WTA has been one of the most positive in sport and has certainly propelled women’s tennis into the big league of sponsored properties. So its announcement that it is exiting the partnership is seen by some as a sign that something has gone wrong. The reality, however, is much more a reflection on changes in the business and the markets it serves.
