SABMiller switches to bad cop in Fosters takeover

NOT SATISFIED that its approach for Aussie beer brand Fosters was being taken seriously, SABMiller has gone on the offensive with a hostile takeover bid. The world’s second-largest brewing group with brands like Grolsch and Peroni is determined to sustain its growth and sees Australia with its beer drinking culture as an obvious next step. Fosters though, may not be quite the target it appears. Its strapline, Australia’s Famous Beer, may be true outside the country but back home drinkers prefer Victoria Bitter (VB) or Castelmaine and many couldn’t give a XXXX for the big F. Good call? Perhaps not.
