Honda bike sales boost profits

MOTOGP AND INDIAN cricket sponsor Honda was decimated by the Japanese tsunami earlier in the year. Its quarterly profits plunged almost 90% as production and sales were almost wiped out by the earthquake and subsequent tidal wave. Now, in a testimony to the resilience of the company and its products, the auto maker has reported a return to profit on the back of strong demand for its motorbikes. It forecasts sales to be only fractionally down on 2010 levels as capacity and confidence returns.
